Just had a 'black pale ale' (essentially we brewed a black ipa but decided to target 5% abv). Now I'm on to one of these:



I'm not a fan. While technically there's nothing 'wrong' with it per say, I find there to be wayyyy too much yeast character. It's out of balance for my tastes.

It's got a nice beat and I can dance to it. Actually, it's rather nice. But it "smells like Moosehead"? Is that their yeast I wonder?

Just had the IPA for the first time. Diacetyl. Perhaps not QUITE at 'Sea Levels', but pretty bad.

I'm into the Uncle Leo's IPA now, it's fucking solid. A real nice IPA. I'll be buying it again for sure.

Really? We've had our bottle a couple of weeks.. maybe a different batch!

Yeah, one of those batches had a diacetyl issue. Hopefully that comes to an end.

Agreed, though the red I had was terrible. I dumped it.

The red I had at the Townhouse was OK, but not quite right. I think it might have been a water issue with the first batches. Greg was working to straighten that out. But it's still a steep learning curve up here.

Did it have an almost plastic type flavor?
