Brewnoser's October Meeting
This coming Tuesday, the 9th, is the second Tuesday of the month. Time once again for a Brewnoser's meeting! Is anyone willing and able to host? We usually aim for 7:30 for an 8pm start, and people are encouraged to bring a favourite homebrew, or interesting commercial beer (something from away, special release from a local, etc). Beer-centric (or -friendly) snacks are welcome too (those pickles last month were great!).
Le'ts be honest, anything tasty is welcome!

I can't host (space is pretty limited in the apartment), but hope to make this meeting

Re: Brewnoser's October Meeting
OK, due to overwhelming response, I will officially volunteer to host. Please PM or email me for my exact address, but I'll give you a hint, I'm in Spryfield, near the Canadian Tire.
Let's aim for 7:30 for a 8pm start. As for snacks, how does everyone feel about turkey sandwiches?
Know1, if you are able to make it, you could probably distribute a case or two of the glasses. And if you wanted, you could leave a few here to save having to make plans with everyone.

I'll throw out the option to host the meeting but I realize being in Sackville is much less convenient than Spryfield for most. I will certainly bring a couple cases of glasses and the order sheet.
Kegged: El Dorado IPA, Rocketfuel 2.0, Wet Hopped Pale, Ryrish Red, Marzen, BN Exchange Dunkel, BN Exchange NEIPA, Lies Lies Lies - Citra <0.5% ale

Re: Brewnoser's October Meeting
I'm not against Sackville, but seeing as we're leaving it a bit last minute, let's keep October's in town. November a possibility for you? That way people can plan.

That's reasonable. November is tentatively ok, I'll know better as we get closer, and I'm talking within a week or two, not days or hours.

I am getting a lift over (from the peninsula) and can give a lift to a couple of others.
And hope to share a cab back.

Re: Brewnoser's October Meeting
Sadly I'm in Scotland. So instead of going to the meeting tonight, I'm going to Brew Dog (http://www.brewdog.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). The decision between bringing back Scotch or Beer is weighing heavy on me, so it'll be a game-time choice. Have fun.

Can you add me and Sanitarium to the list of glasses to bring?know1 wrote:I'll throw out the option to host the meeting but I realize being in Sackville is much less convenient than Spryfield for most. I will certainly bring a couple cases of glasses and the order sheet.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Will do guys. I'll bring an extra case or so too in case others show up.

Can I possibly take you up on the drive offer man? I will be picking up glasses tonight, so I'm thinking riding my bike might be bad for the glassesresonwerb wrote:I am getting a lift over (from the peninsula) and can give a lift to a couple of others.

I've got the start of a cold so I think I'll avoid infecting you all and sit this one out!

I think I'll pop over for a bit. I'll pick up my 2 glasses as well. When I get home I'll send EMT or bring cash.

I'm in the same boat - even had a growler of that wild hop beer from Shiretown in Dalhousie, NB brought down to crack at the meeting.Jayme wrote:I've got the start of a cold so I think I'll avoid infecting you all and sit this one out!
I've already drained the first one (it's decent but nothing mind blowing) - if anyone wants to swing by my place in dartmouth on the way to Chris' I can hand it off if anyone wanted to try it.

Sorry Ryan, the meeting was last night.
Thanks to everyone who dropped by, I believe we had an even dozen in attendance. Some great homebrew and interesting beers!

Re: Brewnoser's October Meeting
Did YOU at least try it, or was your spite for us too strong?
The first bottle I had a month ago was not great, but this one was excellent. Maple and smokey bacon on the nose, nice (but still a tiny bit thin for my taste) body.
