today's deals
34 l lobster boiler (or as our American friends would say, 36 qt turkey frier), marked down from $100 to $75 at Walmart in Bayer's Lake.
Vacuum sealer, marked down from $34 to $17 at Canadian Tire in Sackville.
I got all these at Value Village for $2.

Re: today's deals
The deal was 99 cents each or six for $1.99. I found two I wanted regardless and decided to splurge on four more for the extra penny. I wonder how much they would charge for three.Jmac00 wrote:i now feel like i'm getting ripped off at the value village i go to....glasses usually start at .99 cents....some are more pricier pending their 'fancyness'.

Re: today's deals
I had another great haul at the Value Village in Dartmouth (sorry, Tim). That place actually has an entire shelf of beer glasses.
Some of you may be old enough to remember the Maritime Brewing Company. Frosted Frog was a late, desperate attempt to survive, by marketing to teenagers and immature men. The glass was quite a find but I broke it when I got home.
The stein says 'Shareholder' on it. I feel bad for whoever owned this as it's all he had to show for his investment and he ended up giving it away.

That stein is a neat find. I came across a couple maritime brewing company growlers in the valley a few weeks ago.

It sounds as if MacKay should have had Peter Kelly on the board of directors.

Re: today's deals
Obviously, MacKay never had any problem raising money. It's making a profit for anybody else that he has trouble with. The crazy thing is that if they'd used realistic projections, the 2% share they got would be enough to make a pretty successful brewery.KMcK wrote:It sounds as if MacKay should have had Peter Kelly on the board of directors.

I found some growlers to go with the glass. Too bad the Black Pearl is gone.

Do you collect those? Every once in a while, I come across MBC growlers for sale.

I'm keeping these as collectibles and to use, but two are enough.

Did New Scotland have growlers or any other sort of glassware? Those would be collectible.mr x wrote:Do you collect those? Every once in a while, I come across MBC growlers for sale.

My buddy probably smashed any if he had them. They stiffed him some paycheques when they folded.

Re: today's deals
I thought the standard practice for acquiring beer glasses was from the bar after a night of drinking...kidding...sort of.
