I've got two ball locks that I'll sell for 100 to do this. I'd need the EMT up from to order though.

I would have to pay 2x the shipping for 8 kegs so I will just stick to my ball locks for now. Thanks for the interest though

Yeah not as great a deal when you factor in taxes, shipping, and the fact that they haven't been pressure tested
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Re: 4 Pack of Pin Locks - $99.99
They end up being $40/keg, to your door (inc. tax and shipping), including a set of replacement o-rings per keg. (Minus any Brewnoser code that might be available)
Seems like on the right/lower side of the going price these days.
The description does say "We ensure the kegs hold pressure, however, these kegs are used and require a good cleaning and sanitizing before use."

Why do some prefer pin locks?

Re: 4 Pack of Pin Locks - $99.99
Mark, I'm in the process of switching over to pin locks for the first two reasons that charmers indicated. I use a fridge that is a step up from a mini or bar fridge, but is sufficiently large to hold the width of two pun locks, but the height of ball locks is a concern. I recently discovered that if I us pin locks I can still fit two in, but will not have to pull them out of the fridge to access the connections.

Re: 4 Pack of Pin Locks - $99.99
My wife just shot this one out of the water lol, she heard me talking to my buddy about it. No more kegs for me. Apparently she thinks 6 kegs is enough. Altho I think if I get rid of all my bottles I may be golden for 2 more. Keep ya posted.

What does Stanley say about the whole idea of more kegs? Poor guy must be getting exhausted.

Stanley loves the idea, he's wanting some beers on tap that need to age a few months. He's highly excited to tap the Altbier in a few months.GuingesRock wrote:What does Stanley say about the whole idea of more kegs? Poor guy must be getting exhausted.

Clearly, 10 is the proper number of kegs no matter how many bottles you have. You need four more. Perhaps try convincing your wife that the time saved by being able to brew a whole lot all at once will give you more time for those home renos, hanging with the kiddos, and, of course, for her. Because you love her. Therefore, four more kegs are desperately needed. Really, it's all for her.Keith wrote:My wife just shot this one out of the water lol, she heard me talking to my buddy about it. No more kegs for me. Apparently she thinks 6 kegs is enough. I need to get into all grain and move into 10 gallon batches. 4 kegs is the cheap way to go. Still need to get the gear for the rest lol. I think I'd have better luck with a another cheap pot to save time. Would cut my brew days in half.redoubt wrote:Clearly, 10 is the proper number of kegs no matter how many bottles you have. Yeah, very decent price, but not quite good enough for me to make the switch as I would have to replace my mfl fittings and whatnot.chalmers wrote:They end up being $40/keg, to your door (inc. tax and shipping), including a set of replacement o-rings per keg. I'm just about the pull the trigger on this but I'm hesitant. What do you guys think the odds are that one or more of these wouldn't hold pressure?

If you can wait I will be having more I can trade...
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

He says they are guaranteed to hold pressure, so I think you're safe! Patrick will stand behind his goods and services, as will many of the Brewnosers who have ordered from him.jtmwhyte wrote:I'm just about the pull the trigger on this but I'm hesitant. Be sure to buy the replacement o-ring kit(s), as they will need to be replaced. As he mentions in the description, some of these could be decades old (prolly not), and better to be safe than sorry!
