New brewery opening in Edmundston

Post by brufrog » Wed Nov 06, 2013 9:06 pm

You guys probably already saw my Twitter post. Anyway, the cool thing is that SIlly from Belgium is consulting on this project, to open in May 2014. All Belgian brews, it seems! Exciting stuff.

Is this a nano, or a full sized brewery?

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

They were looking to raise $1.5M, so a decent sized brewery. They had yet to order their equipment. We spoke with them a few months ago about the brewery.

The involvement of Silly is interesting...I'm curious to see what they produce. They say it will be 15 BBL. The other interesting thing is the large # of small investors.

BTW I tried the google translator on their website - it doesn't work very well. Try it for a laugh. http://brasseurspetitsault.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi,
FYI, our website is getting revamped and will be translated. Bear with us. :-) It will indeed be a 15 BBL micro and we have over 80 investors, which makes it a very cool community project. Not too sure where you got the $1.5M investment. Trust me, that's not the case. Anyways, we'll try to keep you posted as we go along. We just published job postings (link below), in case you want to share in your network. (And yes, it's bilingual!).

:welcome:

And good luck!

Is that graphic how you plan for the brewery to be designed, or is it a standing building already?

I can answer that: that's just the design. Still early in the construction, opening May/June 2014.

We've been chatting with Mychele, and put together a post for the blog:

Thanks everyone! We're very excited. The graphic is pretty much what the building will look like, but as stated, we're still in the early construction phase. We'll be renting space in this building, which was previously the old police station downtown Edmundston. It was completely gutted and is being renovated and expanded. A gift store and a café will also be located in this building. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate. Thanks again. :-) Have an awesome day.

It would be nice to see the Facebook page in English also.

I'd say that's a joke worthy of coming out of retirement for. Well done, sir!

I just arrived back in town with checked travel beer, but damn, they're sending me to another conference this evening. I may arrive pre-lubricated if I come to your place tonight.

Finally, a reason to stop in Edmundston (besides pee breaks) on those long drives to Ottawa to visit the parents!
