ARRIVED - New Yeast Order

Post by GillettBreweryCnslt » Mon Sep 09, 2013 7:59 pm

Hey Everyone,

I'll be putting in a yeast order tomorrow (Tuesday) to arrive in Halifax on Friday. If you want something that I usually don't carry. Let me know and I'll get a couple vials.

Thanks

Just want to confirm you are restocking all of the yeasts currently on your site? Looking for Belgian wit at least.

Yup, I'll be bringing back everything but the platinum series yeasts as they are only available for a short time each year.

Just wondering when will you be making another yeast order. I'm looking for a particular Hefe yeast strain you don't have listed on your website.

Beer Kit?

Post by Keith » Fri Oct 04, 2013 10:06 am

Hey Dave,

I'll be out for a visit as soon as I get my fridge. Building out my Kegarator and will need all the lines, fittings, etc. However I was wondering what the below kit would cost and if you have everything, I'll be getting this when I gather everything else. :cheers2:

This is my first attempt at my own recipe and am going with an American White.
Steeping Grains, 10Liters, 20 mins
.5kg Flaked Oats
1kg Flaked Wheat
Grain Bag

Malts (Dry)
1.5kg Wiezen Dry Malt Extract, 60% Wheat, 40% Barley

Malts (Liquid)
2kg Light Liquid Malt extract (30 min on boil)

Hops
1oz Styrian Gold pellets (60min)
1oz Cascade (20min)
1oz Centennial (2 min)

Other
.5oz Coriander (7 min on boil)
.3oz Bitter Orange peel (3 min on boil)

Yeast
Safbrew US-05

Just to let you know the new yeast order arrived today, it included all of the back-ordered yeast from the previous one too. There were some requests for specific strains that were included in this order. I will update the website later tonight but if you still want me to hold something for you just ask. Here is the list of what came:

WLP005 - British Ale - Qty 5
WLP023 - Burton Ale - Qty 2
WLP029 - Kolsch - Qty 4
WLP090 - San Diego Super - Qty 2
WLP380 - Hefeweizen IV - Qty 2
WLP300 - Hefeweizen - Qty 2
WLP565 - Belgian Saison - Qty 2
WLP568 - Saison Blend - Qty 2
WLP862 - Cry Havoc - Qty 2

Thanks

I do want the kolsch yeast, but it'll be some time before I can get out.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
