Alt beer

Post by whisle pig » Fri May 13, 2011 8:11 pm

I have a recipe I was going to try, but was wondering if anyone has a tried and true recipe for an Alt beer; I just got a 1 lb of 2010 Hallertau Tradition 4.3%aa from Germany and don't want to waste then on a unproven recipe.
Thanks
Peter

I made an extract Alt a few months ago based on Northern Brewer's Alt recipe. Used Hallertauer and pitched Wyeast 1007 German Ale. It turned out pretty well, was a pretty popular beer among the non-craft beer drinker's that have visited the last few months.

I can vouch for Jeff's recipe. He gave me one and it was very tasty.
