Brewing up a smoked porter with chalmers. Half will get vanilla bean, half will get chipolte peppers :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

just made my first starter with some nottingham I washed awhile back... can anyone think of some recipes (preferably from BCS) that uses/can use nottingham yeast?

I would think a cold ferment with nottingham could be used for any of the recipes that call for US-05 (both are a clean yeast with good attenuation). I could be talking out of my ass though.

The recommended fermentation temperature range of this strain is 14° to 21°C (57° to 70°F) with good tolerance to low fermentation temperatures (12°C/54°F) that allow this strain to be used in lager-style beer. With a relatively high alcohol tolerance, Nottingham is a great choice for creation of higher-alcohol specialty beers!
Based on that, I'd say 16C would be a good guess.

Going to do Belladona Took's Oaked Mild from Brewing TV / John Palmer on Saturday. Since it is a mild, with a small grain bill I'm going to try a 40L BIAB batch. 1/2 will be oaked as per the recipe. The other half - not. Will be using Wyeast 1968 (London ESB) that just finished up in my Dust Bunny Bitter.

Just crushed the grain for the BCS Irish Red. I'll be brewing it later this afternoon and will most likely be doing it using the traditional BIAB method (first time since fall).

Did up a rose hip wit this afternoon. May have to hit it with more rose hips in secondary, I was hoping for more color and flavor out of them.

Did a beer of many firsts last night/this morning. 1st time: using malted wheat, overnight mash, WB-06, consciously maintain a ferm. temp (62F), and to be dry-hopped.

Feeling a tad under the weather, but it's not going to stop me from doing up an amber wheat to finish off my WB-06 test batches.

I ran out of APA, so I am just heating the strike water to mash in what I think is a nice APA.

12 Lbs 2 row
1 Lb crystal 40
.75 oz Chinook @ 8AA for 60
3 Oz Cascade @ 4 for 20
3 Oz Cascade @4 for 10
and 1.5 oz Amarillo for flameout.

Mash at 152 for 1 hr.
