Trying to source low grade Maple Syrup

Post by Two Wheeler » Mon Mar 18, 2013 11:22 am

Went to the Farmer's market in Freddy on Saturday, looking for lower grade syrup for brewing... talked to about 6 different vendors and they all thought I was crazy. I guess it's not a popular request! I looked for it at Scoop and Save, bulk barn and super store as well without luck. Anyone know where to find this stuff around NB?

Alternatively, I think I may just use the No1 maple sugar to get the sugar, and add fenugreek for the flavor. The OG turned out a little low on me so I think it will benefit from the maple addition in the secondary.

Or maybe I'm way off base... I'm new.

Planet Organic sells b and c grades in hfx. Maybe look for an organic food store in your area.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
