Btw neodymium magnets can be found at Princess Auto. Epoxy a washer to the fan and magnets to the washer. You dont necessarily need a washer but it makes it easier to space the magnets.

If you can't find it or it doesn't turn up, I'm pretty sure I can dig one up. Let me know.

So, Brian and I finally sat down to try and assemble these from the parts donated by Jayme and Paul. I went out and bought a Dimmer Switch, but could not get it to change the output voltage from the 12V DC supply. I'm pretty sure that's because it's 120V AC dimmer.
Can someone confirm that I'll need a potentiometer, probably from The Source, as opposed to anything I could buy at Home Depot?

Thanks

Can you come by after the BJCP meet tomorrow? And if so, bring your stir plate parts (I need to measure the impedance of the fan). I'm bringing back some parts to hopefully get you going.

Chris tried a dimmer and it didn't work for him so you may not want to waste your money... Once we get Chris' to work, I'll post what we did. I've been picking away at an excel sheet based calculator that I'll post as well for those of you who are electronically challenged!
