Nice job! I assume you are at work in those pics.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Very carefully, you don't want to kink it at that point. A tubing bender does a great job, I wish I had one when I made mine.
I just formed the bend by hand and ended up with a slight kink that really don't hurt it.

You make yours yet?

ive also read about filling it with salt to help prevent kinks.

Know any plumbers? They would have the Bender to do it and would only take a minute.

Or cut it and solder a 90 degree joint in and use rigid tubing for the vertical pieces. It makes for a nice clean looking build.

Word. That's how I'd be doing it if I was making one.

The experienced guys there said to fill it with sand and then bend it. We didn't do that though, we just went slowly. The other guy had some experience with it.

Yeah, try filling a 3/8 tube with sand and getting it out after. It wouldn't be easy I think.
I just went slow and carefully bent mine by hand. I did have a slight kink, but it don't take away from performance

Now, that's thinking.
Yes salt or sugar should work, and it's not like you need a whole lot of it to do the job.

Very true.
A little while after I made my chiller, I bought a new flaring tool set that came with spring benders. Would have been so easy....
