LF: Grain Mill
probably going to buy an imitation barley crusher from ihomebrewing.ca ($119.99) but I want to check here first.
Anyone have a grain mill for sale or know of an inexpensive source?

Re: LF: Grain Mill
I almost bought that mill a while back. It's the Cereal Killer mill and the reviews I read were poor so I decided not to get it.
We've done a couple of group buys for the Crankandstein mills here and they are solid and roughly the same price.

check our supplier thread, there's Canadian options IIRC.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

albeit for more than buying direct. They also sell the hopper/base kit if you don't want to make one on your own. I'm very happy with my 2S mill. It's worked great for me so far.

Re: LF: Grain Mill
the crankenstien 2S model looks appealing, 116.95 shipped from the US. Was there any issue/cost at the border?

Re: LF: Grain Mill
We ordered a half dozen, so he chucked in the 1/2" drive for free as long as everyone got the 2s
Edit: dont remember if we got 2s or 2a, whichever is adjustable

Nick
A Group Buy may be in order.
I may be convinced. I still find it hard to beleave a roller mill is over $100. But I may be tempted.

Re: LF: Grain Mill
Sandy,
I'd be into a group buy, asap considering grain is on the way.
I am a little green around here and lack the credit resources to front funds for several mills.
I'll post it up in the group buy section and see where it goes.

Re: LF: Grain Mill
I have the iHomebrewing mill bolted to a bench with a hole in the bottom and power it with my 18V cordless drill. It works like a charm.

We got the 1/2" driveshaft upgrade and only ordered 5 in the end IIRC. We did have to get middle of the road mill. I'm pretty sure he'd do the same deal

Re: LF: Grain Mill
Thanks for the input everyone, I think I'm going to go with the crankenstien 2D from beer grain supply , http://beergrains.com/store/#!/~/produc ... d=16790691
It's a bit more than factory direct but it will arrive faster and it keeps my money in Canada. The 10% discount and free shipping is hard to argue with.

I got mine in a bulk buy through the MoB and I think it was $125 shipped to me ( Barley Crusher ) and I motorized it.
