Chockpish #3 pilsner - coming out!

Post by Chockpish » Mon Feb 22, 2016 9:53 pm

Gents,

Here's a view of my latest czech pilsner; coming straight out of the serving keg. It tastes as good as it looks too!!! It's named Chockpish #3 as it' my third batch since going all- grain.

O.G. 1.051
F.G. 1.012
IBU 47
100% R-O water with very little CaCl2 addition in order to 'reproduce' the Pilzen water profile.

Santé!

The bitternest is suprizingly smooth, most likely due to the low calcium content in the water. I might crank it up a tad more on my next batch, as i beleive there ´s still some room for additional hops without moving too far away from the style.

Or perhaps the late hop additions. I look at it this way. Hops go bad, my job is to see that doesn't happen and use them up. So figuring out a way to cram more hops in just makes sense to me. ha ha
