Did 6 racks of baby backs and a couple slabs of salmon (one maple pepper and one roast garlic / sundried tomato) for a party yesterday.

Yep.

I have had a nice IPA from Japan. I'll need to look up the details of that one.

I've been making bread using a regular dough with about 25% (more if I'm brave) spent grains....real tasty esp when you brewed a dark beer.

Sandy, My son Tristan is learning Japanese, and has some Japanese friends who went to school with him on an exchange program. He wants to live there eventually. Let me know if you need any translation done or any input from Japan.

I speak very little Japanese and read none. My son had my camera and it was stolen, so I can't take a pitcher of the label.

Thanks

Smoked a picnic shoulder today. Yesterday I canned some salsa with the tomatoes I picked from the garden over the week.

Got the beast up pretty hot tonight, first time she's gone that high.

And then paired the kinda-thin steak with some truffle oil & truffle salt fries. Yes, I know there is 0.001% real truffle in there (if that), but damn they smell and taste great!

I's scary how easy it is to dime the grille. Just walk away for 5 min and it is way too hot.

Whipped up some ramen this evening. The main broth is some that I had canned, mixed bone, meat, vegetable stock with kombu / katsuodashi. It's awesome to be able to pull one of these off the shelf.

I'm still learning and today I tried a miso tare recipe from Ramen_Lord on Reddit. It was excellent. I used red and white miso paste, a bit of tahini, roasted garlic pure, onion... I whisked some into the broth just before serving.

My goto add ons are green onion, carrot, mushroom, and black been pork.
