Brewnosers Motorcycles

Post by bluenose » Thu May 08, 2014 4:09 pm

In honor of Guinges' car thread, I thought I'd start a motorcycle thread

This is Pearl, a 2001 750 Honda Shadow Spirit:

Sounds like both you and Allison should be out on the bikes more often! Does she have her license?

I sold my 1972 XS650 less than 24 hours ago. Looking at the Triumph Scrambler, but it's a lot of $!!

yeah she's had her licences for a few years now and I've been driving bikes my whole life. But it seems that we don't have time for all of our hobbies and somethings got to go. We didn't drive the bikes at all last summer.

I got my license last year, I'd love to get a little 250 or something cheap and simple. Power isn't a huge concern for me. Just don't have enough disposable income right now

Not sure, maybe something like a Yamaha xs650 bobber / chopper. We'll see how the summer plays out.

Now I'm shopping for one of these, a Harley Sportster Iron 883. I'd get one tomorrow for a fair price.

So after doing the numbers at the dealership on the weekend and the price of full insurance on a new bike, I decided to buy used. I came across this gem on Sunday, bought it today. I fuckin love it! I'll be doing work on it to my own taste and by next year it'll probably be blacked out like the Iron. It's a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster (Hugger model) 883. I spent some time on it this evening and I don't see a whole lot of brewing in my future.

Can you both get on there? Looks great. If you are out for a spin, drop in. I have lots of raspberry PSB that needs to be drunk up ASAP.

She's in decent condition - nicks and scratches, and a couple things need fixing. Overall, pretty good though. She's got 62,000 kms, so she's not new, but that's alright.

Jeez Rob, I sure do miss that sound. Music to my ears, although I was running straight pipes and was a little louder.
