New brewer from Cole Harbour
Hey everyone,
Just thought I would say a little hello.
I have been brewing Festa Brew kits for a couple months all but one turned out good. I think the one that failed was due to the primary bucket being not as clean as I thought. Just finished my first extract brew, it was pretty fun and my house smelled amazing. I will be interested to see how it tastes in the next month or so. It will be going to my secondary around July28-29th, so it will be a bit before I can enjoy it.
Next up is to build a kegerator, or be lazy and buy one. That will be a late summer/fall project for sure.
Anyway, glad I stumbled upon this forum. Lots of good information and its always nice to be able to talk about beer.

Re: New brewer from Cole Harbour

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Welcome aboard! There's a few members in Cole Harbour, nice to add another one for impromptu tastings. Be sure to check out the Events listing for our monthly meeting, being held this Tuesday. Feel free to bring some beer to share, or just some war stories and questions.
Cheers!
