I wouldn't count on it. Think they'd likely advertise that fact.

Sandy,
I'm thinking hard about ordering this one https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/element5500.htm
The only thing holding me back is the threat of extra fees at the border.

I wouldn't trust these guys. It says in one place low watt density and in another medium watt density.

"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber

What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Nope, Camco hasn't released the all-stainless ones. And to be clear, the element is not going to be stainless, just the bushing (the end of it). The element is composed of nickel-chromium, I've attached the brochure for the elements.GAM wrote:Is that all stainless?

Give me a couple of weeks and I should have the 4500W and 5500W Camco Ripple ULWD elements. Would you consider a ripple element? The benefit for ripple over the foldback is that the ripple has less watts per inch over the element and therefore an increased lifespan. I'm on the fence about bringing in the foldback.Maritimer wrote:Sandy,

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Yes, I'm only going to carry the stainless versions. They are available as 4500W and 5500W in both ripple and foldback. The dimensions are not yet released but the rep explained to me that the ripple are going to provide more life due to the wattage being spread over a longer element. The only advantage of the foldback is that they'll cost a few dollars less and take up less space.LiverDance wrote:Are the ripple ones stainless?

This sounds great Dave, Are you talking mid-late January? I'll hold off on ordering elsewhere if thats the case.EverwoodAveBrewShop wrote:Yes, I'm only going to carry the stainless versions. Edit: I would go for a ripple given the option.

Re: Amazon: 6000W elements on sale
At the latest. I expect to hear about pricing and availability today from a Canadian distributor of a different line a products (RV stuff interestingly). While they haven't released the product officially yet, they have a few available from the first run that are ready to go. I just need to coordinate with an establish distributor for the drop ship while I get setup with Camco and talk about becoming a distributor with them. I hope to have them in before the new year.Maritimer wrote:This sounds great Dave, Are you talking mid-late January? I'll hold off on ordering elsewhere if thats the case.

This element would be good for 110v RIMS and run at about 1500W. Assuming you had a long enough RIMS tube.
