Local source for 0.1 gram precision scale?

Post by RubberToe » Thu Dec 04, 2014 4:34 pm

Hey all, I know this has been asked before, maybe even by me.

Does anyone know of a local source for scales with 0.1 gram precision? I see them commonly advertised as jewelry scales. (or weed scales, lol)

I'm getting tired of my scale for measuring water additions and hops. Looking for something in the $20 range.

I was thinking the same thing a few days ago

"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I'd try a smoke shop like Mary Janes, They would certainly have accurate affordable scales.

I've also got the lee valley scale - I don't think you'll find better bang for buck locally. The 1kg capacity is unusual for a scale in that price range/size. Mary Janes will be more expensive to find something comparable.
