Hoptoberfest is now $10 per eating head

Post by mr x » Fri Sep 28, 2012 10:32 am

Or $5 for those not eating. I really hate to do that, but with the weather tomorrow, I had to buy a couple canopies at $150 a piece. At least it will be a one time purchase. I hope everyone is OK with that.

That's fine by me. I would rather be dry.

Are all the club funds gone?
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I'm pretty sure it will rain in Halifax sometime in the future.

$10 is fine with me. Be good to have the canopies around for future events as well.

If the extra cost is going to stop anyone from showing up, PM me. I can probably cover an couple extra bodies if need be.

Are they stable enough that we could suspend a tarp between them to increase our coverage that much more?

Good idea. I'm thinking if we have the crowd we are expecting we will need as much room as we can get :spilly:
