Brewnosers who organized group buys or hosted meetings read

Post by mr x » Fri Sep 14, 2012 7:07 pm

OK I have another nice kitchen knife (Shun Premier Utility Knife) that is going to be drawn for at Hoptoberfest among people who have hosted meetings or organized group buys within the last year. This includes the satellite groups. Nash and Jeff get automatic entries for various reasons. So speak up.

I did the first round of great brew eh pumps. It wasn't a huge group buy, but that knife looks really nice. :)

BGS Yeast Order
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I've hosted a couple SAAZ meetings, but I would feel horribly guilty winning this at the expense of those who put in all the time and energy to make the group buys happen. That is, I would feel guilty, until I've used the knife a couple times

How about an award for using the most :welcome: icons in the new member introductions, or giving out the most pepper plants to other members?
