Sounds like a good idea, I'm not in on this round, but I'd gladly lend you guys a hand for the brew day.

I'd say 1 to 1.5 months from when we filled it, yet to be finalized. Get brewing at any rate, RIS keeps for years.

That will put our fill date at the begining of september sometime. The exact date will have to be worked out later.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

In my mind, that puts you in for a third of whatever Graham and I take home.

I'm still learning this beersmith thingy... the recipes use percentages, but my beersmith is setup for lbs

Does anyone have a beersmith file for this recipe or know where I can get one?

You will see percentages in the main window. There is also a grain percent button just to the right of that window at the bottom.

I'd be interested in a group-brew!! I can gather ingredients together prior to make sure I have everything to keep consistent. Let me know :cheers2:

My plans have changed so I won't be able to do the group brew thing this time around.

How has the brewing been going, guys? We ran into trouble with the first barrel with many beers not finishing low enough, so they needed an extra few days with another pitch of yeast. I believe the transfer date is still going to be in the first week or two of September, so this week is the time to get to it.
Anyone missing any ingredients, looking for hints/tips, please post up so we can help!

I'm hoping to get this on this weekend but I am short on a couple items. Until the grain order comes in I only have about 8# of premium pale malt which I was planning to cut with some munich which I have a bunch of. Can I take out a loan on some MO or 2-row with someone? I'm also in need of roasted barley and horizon/magnum hops if anyone can spare? My plan is to check NG but I may as well check here first :)
Kegged: El Dorado IPA, Rocketfuel 2.0, Wet Hopped Pale, Ryrish Red, Marzen, BN Exchange Dunkel, BN Exchange NEIPA, Lies Lies Lies - Citra <0.5% ale
Fermenting: NZ Pilsner with Enigma, Strawberry brett cider

A friend and I brewed our batch yesterday. OG was 1.097. It's bubbling away...FermCap was definitely needed on this one.

I wouldn't hesitate to sub 2row into this recipe. Throw in a few percent of Munich or Vienna if you're super paranoid.

I think I have enough ingredients, but NG didn't have magnum and recommended Zeus instead... Will this work?

I'm having a tough time with beersmith... It says it's way off the imperial stout profile, but there's no ris profile

My profile shows everything is ok except for the color which is way above what they have. What is off in yours?

Estimated Colour: 71.7 SRM

I'm just a bit off

here's what I got into beersmith

when I enter the percentages that people had in the recipe, the sliders at the bottom are way off, but this is what I get when I move the sliders to the appropriate spot... so I'm not sure what's right

my problem might be in the equipment section which I got from the webbernet for keggle biab

I've attached both in the hopes someone might see what's throwing my chit off
