I've had both a chugger and march pump, and I must say that I prefer the chugger.

I had the March with the side input-output, and the chugger is the stainless head with center input..I don't know if that's the reason, however, I definitely prefer the chugger.

Love my centre inlet/stainless head chugger.

that's two votes for the centre inlet... any reason why it's preferred over the side inlet?
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I have the centre inlet march pump, it's awesome. It reduces priming issues and user error in mounting the pump. Side - side inlet / outlet shouldn't be side to side but mounted bottom - top.

Also the centre inlet is 3/4" so if your other pluming coincide it places a restriction on the output of the pump (1/2") the side where it should be on pumps like this.
