Went by Rock Bottom... picked up some Conan.... had a $5 burger (thank you burger week).... drank a fucking incredible IPA.... and followed that up with a barrel aged RIS. Also delicious. Thanks Nash!

Please stop talking about Fathom and RB burgers. That's what I used to have at lunchtime on my monthly trips to Halifax. The RB used to be the highlight of the trip. The Fathom, plus the cilantro burgers, plus NASH and the Brewnosers.

I really hope they will open again at lunchtime. I'm never in Halifax in the evening.

Guys, this yeast makes one hell of an IPA, really compliments American hops. Don't miss this opportunity!
I got mine today, thanks a ton, Nash! I'm brewing this week for sure.

No kidding, boys. We aren't even in the city but we sorted out getting this yeast, have to oxygenate the old-school way (splashy, splashy, splash-splash-splash), and are experiencing more brew issues than ever before (pot too small for the full-volume DIPA mash, I melted our bag and had to repair it right before dough in, etc.)... And we're on this shit.
Even in the bottle this yeast smells fracking fantastic. That apricot smell really comes through. Also, have y'all seen the weather this evening? Perfect for an outdoor brew.
Don't miss out!!!
Happy brewing, lads.

Thanks to you for whipping up the original starter. I'll have a couple growlers of the finished product for you!RubberToe wrote:Guys, this yeast makes one hell of an IPA, really compliments American hops. Don't miss this opportunity!

I was worried I wouldn't have enough Conan slurry to go around but here's what's left today, only three picked up so far....

I'd love some if someone wants yo hold onto it for a week. I could brew next Tuesday, I assume i could still brew without a starter at that point.

Looks like there will be lots left but my cooler isn't ideal for yeast storage. I run it at 40 F, yeast should be stored below 36 F.CorneliusAlphonse wrote:I'd love some if someone wants yo hold onto it for a week. Recommend giving this stuff lots of space (and a blowoff tube!). The churning in the fermenter is unreal and my blowoff container has been a totally constant stream of bubbles all day.
And the smell is as advertised. Unreal apricot and peach.
Thanks again to RubberToe and NASH for a rare treat. It would be cool if we could work out a way for folks to share their batches with this yeast even if it's just designating time at a monthly meeting.

yeah I figured if someone else was getting some they could stick it in their fridge for a week, that way i'd be out of your hair.NASH wrote:Looks like there will be lots left but my cooler isn't ideal for yeast storage. This might be a good yeast for top cropping?mumblecrunch wrote:Recommend giving this stuff lots of space (and a blowoff tube!). The churning in the fermenter is unreal and my blowoff container has been a totally constant stream of bubbles all day.
I really want some of that, but no oxygenating setup yet, need O2 and parts and Dave is away ATM. I might be set up by next weekend.

I wish I had time to go to HRM. This yeast sounds awesome! It sounds like it would work well in a fresh hop IPA.

Greg, I don't think the yeast is working...
Fuck me, it's not even been 24 hours since pitching!
Sniffed it, since it was escaping the primary and all, and wow does this beer smell fantastic. Hopped to the hilt.
