two week hoppy apa or ipa recipe search
Or other recipe suggestions. Brewing tomorrow, got ~8 days to ferment, a day or two cold crash, transfer to keg and shake carb, then 2-3 days to settle and "condition". just looking for any hoppy recipe that might work well for this - anyone have suggestions? Would one of the much brewed ipa's on here work with this?
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

I think the yeast is your main concern, not so much the recipe. I think most of the ones in the recipe would work as well as a recipe could under those conditions.

Yeah, just wondering if it is even worth bothering. Had been thinking us05 and over pitch a little, but maybe I'll just get a couple growlers for the 9th. Brew up something tomorrow anyway but let it ferment and clear at its own pace.

I think a healthy pitch of WLP090 (San Diego Super Yeast) would fully ferment and clean up a hoppy APA in the time you need.

If I needed to turn over a beer that quick, I'd brew a hefe with a heavy pitch of 3068.

Yeah, I wouldn't use 05. I am just finishing an IPA that will be grain to glass in 13-14 days and I used 05. The krausen didn't drop until day 6 and I've had to tightly manage the fermentation temps to keep it on schedule. It's cold crashing in the primary right now. The next time I want a quick one I'll use S-04, it's much faster, I'll also keep the temp low for a lower yeast character.
