Re: ALES Open 2013 DUE April 4th
I've learned a few things from my first two comps... I am going to hold back a couple beers that didn't score well and will enter those that did as well as one or two more.
For anyone thinking about competing, just go for it. Throw what you have at it and you may be pleasantly surprised. The feedback is worth it on its own.

Not yet, but plan on sending 3 entries Monday.
Ahh, fuck it - I just registered and put in a 4th, the last 2 bottles of my Simcoe Single Hop.

How's it going, guys?
I managed to do some bottling this afternoon and just need to find a suitable box. 7 entries here, holding back a couple that didn't do so well in the first two comps. I still didn't get the fedback from the Werthogs yet either.
Sent from the brew timer.

Sent a few out on Friday. FYI - Canada post regular from Friday is expected to be delivered April 4 ... Easter throws a wrench into delivery.RubberToe wrote:How's it going, guys?

Re: ALES Open 2013 DUE April 4th
I've reduced my number of entries to 6. If anyone meant to send in to this and put it off, I have lots of room in my box that's leaving first thing tomorrow morning. It will be there on time (3 day shipping). If you want, contact me.

That must be costing a pretty penny?RubberToe wrote:I've reduced my number of entries to 6. If anyone meant to send in to this and put it off, I have lots of room in my box that's leaving first thing tomorrow morning. It will be there on time (3 day shipping). If you want, contact me.

Purolator Ground for 8 entries (16 bottles) cost me just under $75, from Amherst.

Re: ALES Open 2013 DUE April 4th
The box weighed 11kg. Half of those entries were Graham's, so really I'm only on the hook for $35 to $40. Still waiting to see what they actually charge my card though. I don't think the cost is unreasonable considering how far away Regina is. Nobody twisted my arm to enter.Jimmy wrote:Gross.

Not bad when you're splitting it 2 or 3 ways.
