Exact same scene when LD and I dropped off our beer (and akr's, don't worry!) Sunday morning. The girl laughed as we brought beer INTO a brewery, and didn't quite get that it wasn't a joke. And then I had to say "Shut up and take my money!", though she didn't get my Futurama reference, so she just thought I was being rude. So.... there goes my chances, she probably threw the bottles away. ;)
I had the same thing today in cole harbour. The guy had no idea on what to do with it. Didn't know what to do for payment, and didn't have any signup sheets. I'll be suprized if my entry makes it into the comp! :P

For a competition that home brewers put their hard work and sweat into it'd be nice if the establishments gave a heads up to their employees.
On Tap:
Falconers Galaxy IPA
Simcoe SMaSH
Topaz SMaSH
Cranberry Rye Saison

That's really bizarre that the up front employees wouldn't be made aware that various people will be dropping off beer AND money for the brew off! WTH? :-?

Futurama? She probably wasn't even old enough to remember Futurama.

I hope you made it clear which bottles were Andy's, so that she only threw away yours...

I hope noble grape is keeping the bottles refrigerated in a dark storage area. When I brought mine in the guy simply left them on the counter in the store.

I'm sure they must have tasted them by now. I've been checking my email obsessively for any word, but I'd guess Monday.

They usually know the final 4 a week in advance, which would be tomorrow so it should be soon.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Also, what's the plan for the Brewnosers Blonde tasting? Anyone available next Fri or Sat?

And ha ha, my first year in and I'll be on vacation. Whoops. My brother will be there though. I'll still be away next weekend, so I won't be able to attend the brewnosers event if it's then.
