That could be a possibility, although I'm guessing that shipping a box of 8 beers overnight would easily cost $100 or more. I guess I'll just chalk this one up as being a dumbass.RubberToe wrote:Shitty deal.canuck wrote:Piss me off. I don't think they start judging until Monday, do you think it's worth contacting them to see if you can overnight it?

From the ALES FB page:
Sorting in progress. Looking like about 400 entries this year.

Re: ALES Open 2013 DUE April 4th
I cracked two of my samples last night to see how they held up in the bottles. The wizenbock was a little hot (probably pushing 10% with the priming sugar), out of style in colour too. I liked it better last week when it hadn't quite finished priming yet, although its still a nice beer. The IPA was still really good, maybe my best yet. I'll try the other two I sent in tonight and see how they held up in the bottle. Hopefully the judges like them and we can toss a few more points onto the club of the year count.

I got my scoresheets back this week - I'm happy with the results, ranging from 30 to 40 points with the Belgain Blonde doing the best for me. Feedback was good.

We got ours back as well, but I'm afraid I can't quite say the same thing! The beer I expected to score well (at least it did in our practice BJCP sessions) did poorly, but I'm fairly convinced they did not understand the style properly. The beer I knew had issues did great! Go figure. Also had some fairly major differences between judges that made me think they did not talk to each other. Some sheets also would contradict themselves.

FWIW, I got higher scores on the same beers consistently from the provisional judges thanm I did from the certified judges.Jayme wrote:We got ours back as well, but I'm afraid I can't quite say the same thing!
