If mixed according to label instructions, is this stuff safe for skin contact?

My hands are always in contact with it - haven't had any issues.

My hands are in it constantly when brewing/ kegging etc.

A caution I read before and wanted to pass on.
In case there are any other kitchen home brewers, thought I should post that undiluted Star San will leach the colour out of your kitchen counters. There must have been some on the bottom of the container when I brewed last night as there are now white oblong circles all over my black counter tops. Mrs Pubs was not pleased to say the least. When calculating the per bottle cost of home brewing, I will now have to add resurfacing countertops as a capital depreciation.

I learned that the hard way. Except I didn't resurface the countertops...the hell with that!

I used Star San in a spray bottle. It seems to work great, but if you spray it on stuff, don't inhale the vapour. It'll make you gasp and gag. Can't be healthy.

SS is the only cleaner I can take the smell of.

the pink stuff was the worst...SS doesn't have a "smell" to me...maybe I burned all my smell'rs.

I use SS on everything...great stuff imo

I'm probably being overly cautious/paranoid, but for folks who don't know: Star San is a sanitizer, not a cleaner. You use it after properly cleaning your equipment (which might be with just water, soap and water or other chemical cleaners, or mechanical).

You can't properly sanitize dirty equipment.

You are right of course. I use PBW or scrubbing to clean and SS to sanitize.

I use one step which is a H2O2 cleaner AND sanitizer for my kegs and it's no rinse. http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/revi ... tegory/19/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I leave it in the kegs and dump it out just before kegging.

I also recently started using X's technique; boiling water in keg, Shake and invert, leave for 10 - 15 mins before kegging, as an extra measure.
