I recently submitted an application to my local municipality for approval of setting up a Nano Brewery. My local town is usually very receptive for new business start ups, but we'll see how they respond in a couple of weeks when I appear in front of the Planning Advisory Committee. Tick tock, the wait begins!

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

That's excellent, Bruce. I actually didn't know that there was another Nano outside of Shiretown and Patrice's Acadie-Broue in NB. Any major roadblocks along the way that you encountered?

Good Luck

So far none. I have my bn,my hst # my, federal brewing license and next week I meet with the province. The hardest parts are over...I think. I've kept it pretty much under my hat thus far, just didn't want to get all fired up then have something go wrong.

That's fantastic, Bruce! I don't want to get fired up either, just want to take it one small step at a time!

Thanks gents. I won't have any additional news until at least the 12th, but will keep everyone posted as I know more. The wait until the 12th is going to be a killer!

Awesome for both of you. I guess I'll have more reason to cross the river when going to visit the in-laws in Dieppe, Bruce.

This is awesome news. Keep us posted about the adventures. I would love to hear how much of a pain in the ass it is, as I am sure others here do as well. I want to do the same here in Bagtown.

And that's why I tell all my friends why I wouldn't want to open a micro brewery, or a pizzeria.
