Candi syrup
I’m not even sure where to post this, but I’m looking at doing a quad. The recipe calls for candi syrup 90 and 180.
I see Dave only sells 80. Does anyone know where I can find some in N.S.? I searched on OBK and I am not paying 15.00 for shipping for 2lb of sugar

Waiting to hear back on the group buy to see if it’s an option to get a bunch of the stuff.

Re: Candi syrup
There's no candi syrup on the list. I've been getting the D-180 at Maritime Wine & Beer. IMO D-180 is the best... the candisyrup line is amazing. You guys should try date syrup too, it's my secret weapon for dubbels and quads.

Re: Candi syrup
I've done raisins at the end of the boil as well, can't recall the amount, as per a Dubbel recipe in Brew Like a Monk.oceanic_brew wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 7:46 amThanks for the tip. Re: Candi syrup
Thanks Sandy. I’ll see when I’m going to make a trip and call ahead of time.
I didn’t realize you could add raisins end of boil. Would I leave them in fermenter or separate them out after chilled after boil?

Re: Candi syrup
I separated mine to avoid any of nasties living on them, I can’t remember if I threw them in at flameout or for the last 5 minutes I’ll need to check my recipe.Bowserm wrote:Thanks Sandy. I’ll see when I’m going to make a trip and call ahead of time.
