Nice job on the keg cleaner - what size / type of pump did you use?
Also - stainless hardware I assume?

Re: Random brewing pics
Thanks! IIRC the pump is a 1/4hp sump pump from Princess Auto that came to around $70 and was on sale at the time.LeafMan66_67 wrote:Nice job on the keg cleaner - what size / type of pump did you use?

Yes, the shiny bits are stainless although I went for a long time using an iron coupler on the pump because it was hard to find the stainless one. I got some of the pieces from Crane Supply, Everwood, and OBK. The rest is CPVC from Crappy Tire. The spray ball is from Brewers Hardware. Two Rona paint buckets (one with the bottom cut out, inserted in the other) for height. Ball locks to clean the posts and dip tubes.
I used to run PBW, rinse, then starsan. However starsan foams too much so now I rinse the kegs first, or soak with PBW if they're bad, then use aseptox or oxysan in the keg cleaner.
Edit: That's a 3" - 4" toilet phlange on the top. It fits the keg top well.

Bottling some beer at my Dad's since my keg ran out. Woops!
This is how I recommend using CPBF. Mount it to a board, it makes it so much easier.

It's a custom 15gallon that Nash traded me a few years ago. I would love another one eventually, but do have 2 15 gallon corny kegs that I ferment in as well.Keith wrote:What size fermenter is that

Brewed up a 10 gal batch of a hopped up all citra pale ale on the weekend. Expecting a full on mess with this one, hence the large tub.

Feeling a little desperate to get the temps down. The fridge is dead, any suggestions to keep the temp down? Thinking about wrapping a cold magic bag around it.

Fridge will still insulate. Pop a whack of ice packs or bagged ice in there, refresh as needed.Halifax_Jeff wrote:Feeling a little desperate to get the temps down. The fridge is dead, any suggestions to keep the temp down? Thinking about wrapping a cold magic bag around it.

Throw a wet towel on your fermentation pale with the fan. Evaporation will help and Google swamp cooler.

A wet towel and a fan will really cool it down.
