Just on the home stretch of a triple brew day! Started with an IPA (blend of mosaic and simcoe), then went on to a Wheat (hoping to infuse with strawberry and kiwi), and now half way through the boil on a Stout. Great weather to be brewing!

Triple brew days are fun. Alot of work, but worth it if weather cooperates.mackay85 wrote:Just on the home stretch of a triple brew day! Re: What's everyone brewing?
Brewing up my Flanders Brown, pitching roselare blend and some wild yeast strains a friend of mine isolated from the icelandic countryside last year.
Also dry hopping my berliner weiss with 100 gr of mosaic, and kegging an experimental IPA where I used 60°C geothermal tap water which cut my brewday down to less than 3 hours, smelled a bit funny, but hope that the 1/2# of dryhopping will overwhelm it.

Just putting together my kegs of lemon/line carbed water. I hope we'll have enough, but if it's anything like last year, we'll be OK.

Re: What's everyone brewing?
Brewed up a batch of my house pale ale. Usually about 50/50 2row and Pilsner with a little crystal something or other. Used 1/4 pound honey malt this time with 1/2 pound c60 (6 gallon batch). Got 10 lbs of honey malt at the last group buy so every brew for the foreseeable future with have a 1/4 lb. Or maybe I'll make a honey malt smash, ha.

Mucked with a Helles yesterday. It's mostly correct, but I threw in a wee bit of crystal.

Also kegged Pineapple, Orange and Blueberry.

sounds like it may be similar to lug tread, love that stuff! I'm brewing up some Soulshine Pilsner this evening with mash in at lunch timeMcGruff wrote:A Kolsch with Pils malt and some toasted wheat malt and Hallertauer. WLP029 Kolsch.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Getting ready for a brew on Monday. BCS APA (non-caramel) with honey malt replacing the Munich, all Amarillo for the flavor/aroma hops and WLP002 for the yeast. Starter fermented a little warm today (ambient); love the flocculation from this yeast: looks like a brain hemorrhage shooter without the grenadine

I used WLP002 on my first brew ever (and in a glass carboy for primary, no less). So I had the opposite experience: it took me a while to come to terms with yeasts that didn't look like egg drop soup.mstead wrote:I remember the first time I used that yeast.... I thought it went bad! lol

Re: What's everyone brewing?
I brewed my first brett beer yesterday, a white IPA with spalt, waimea and centennial hops, half pitched with a blend of brett L and B, the other with US05. A bit of my brett starter went into a carboy of oatmeal stout I just racked over from the primary, so I'll check in on that maybe in the fall.
