Brewing up a pale ale. EKG for flavour and Amarillo for aroma. 1/2 pils 1/2 2-row for base malts, .5 lb chocolate malt 1lb crystal 60 and a pound of special B. Should be tasty.

That sounds interesting!

I'm breing 10 gallons of Dusseldorph Altbier and 10 gallons of wet hopped IPA. The boil is almost complete on the Altbier.

Rebrewing an IPA that didn't turn out due to old hops
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

And the 4 of us are brewing up 4 test batches (5gal each) of "3 Scots & a Frenchman"

same grain bill, different hop times/amounts, and 2 different yeasts...will will pick a winner and tweak that recipe if needed

Holy shit Justin, you guys are a brewing machine. I can't keep up if I try. :cheers2:

This weekend for me is looking like I'll be brewing 10 gallons of a Witbier. Splitting the batch. WB-06 in one and T-58 in the other. Fermenting at room temperature.

You should look into a 50 gallon setup. I'm presently pricing one out as I'm getting tired of brewing 10 gallon batches lol. 25 gallons is more like it.

http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/colem ... AclqTbNjGg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This cooler with allow for a 25 gallon mash without sparging. I've calc'd it up to 50 gallons with sparging. (didn't go above this).

If you wanted you could look at the 55 gallon Boilmaker and get extension to increase the volume to 100 gallon.

I'm actually looking to sell one like that
Nova Prime Taproom
Tap 1: Festa Brew Scotch Ale
Tap 2:
"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

A (very) light chocolate flavour might be a nice touch anyway.

It's actually Jamil's dusseldorf alt recipe from the BCS book, but with cold-steeped chocolate subbed for the Carafa. I submitted it our Brewnosers judges review last winter and didn't get any chocolate comments back. Snuck it right past them! :banana:

I'm brewing up a Scottish light tomorrow for hoptoberfest. It's probably going to come out a little maltier and hoppier than to style, but that's fine. I'm going for a session beer that still has a lot of flavour to it.

Bad brew day. Couldn't get a boil, pot was black with soot. Just dumped a 10 gallon batch of wit.
