I’m getting ready for a Bramarillo Pale Ale tomorrow. Going to give it another chance. Conan, light malt profile with Amarillo, Bramling Cross and Galaxy. This time no salt additions, no acid malt and no hop stand.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Breaking bad and cooking again...not Blue beer but cooked a Rory's Red, Cascade/Citra Pale Ale, Brewers Best Imperial Blonde Ale...kegged up a Brewhouse IPA kicking around using the stock shit that came with it (even the Coopers yeast) and lard tunderin' jaysus its good! Found about 20 bottles 500 mL of Brewhouse Munich Dark Lager hacked over to an American Brown Ale (done Jan. 2014) and have to say they're incredible! Have a Festa ESB just about ready to bottle and shit didn't I find an outdated pouch of Mangrove Jacks that needed some attention. SO... I slapped some dark DME and dex to it, even fired a package of nearly dated Coopers on it rather than my Danstar Windsor to see if it goes as well as the last two experiments. I'm making hay (beer really) while the sun doesn't shine in order to fill all bottles in the pipeline and then work on the kegs. Will be heading to Everwood soon to re-stock and get some more cooking gear. Yes, it's tough being semi retired LOL! May as well brew and drink as this f**king weather is holding up mototime LOL
PS - my next brew is going to be my special Heisenberg Blue

Sounds fun, but I'll be away for Mother's Day. Hope the weather works out.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Going home at lunch to mash in on a blonde ale with centennial and Nelson Sauvin
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Going to try to push out a 40 l batch of cream ale on my system. Since my kettle can't handle it, I was thinking about making 28 liters of 1.070 O.G 32 IBU wort, split it into 2 fermenters (14 liters in each) and top up with water to get 2 full batches of 1.045 20 IBU ale. Anybody done something similar before?

I'm gonna try and do 2.5 gallon stackable kegs. I'll still have my 5 gallon kegs but these 2.5 gallon batches will be pilot batches.GAM wrote:Jamie

Re: What's everyone making this weekend?
Exactly how my extract setup worked. Worked well for all the batches I've done. Not sure how difficult it will be to get the concentrated wort in an all grain setup.gm- wrote:Going to try to push out a 40 l batch of cream ale on my system.
