Going to try and brew a Pale Ale. I don't have any full kegs in reserve and it's making me antsy.

Planning on a Helles for tomorrow if the weather holds good. It is supposed to be a Helles, but I will probably double the flavour with the finishing hops so it won't quite be a balanced brew by any means.

May aim for a quick fill for an empty keg with some Festa Brew or try out a stovetop batch of Jamie's Bee's Knees with centennial :mrgreen:

I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber

Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Just mashed in on a 10g batch of weizen. God damn it's tight in the mash tun.

Note to self: next time reduce the water volume in the mash. 58 liters + grain doesn't fit in the 70qt cooler :x

Ah, you got lots of room there! If you're not doing FWH sometimes it helps to mix a bit of wort to your first hop addition to prevent a crazy amount of foaming when you dump them in. If you're not using fermcap that is (I don't).

It's a 90 min boil, so hops are going in @ 60. I'll be using fermcap and hoping this bitch doesn't end up all over the balcony.

I do double batches in my OBK kettle as well. Just fire some fermcap in there and you'll be good.

You can throw those 60 minute hops in at 90 minutes without any bad effect.

Brewed up a 100L of IPA in 4.5 hrs, a bit of a record for us :banana:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I believe LD did a triple batch of one IPA, and a double batch of another. While the General is a beast, the most we've gone for is ~65L into fermenters.
