Post by CorneliusAlphonse » Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:47 pm

does anyone have any ideas where I could get some small empty bottles for my homemade vanilla? preferably in the 200-250ml range. I am planning to give some away during Christmas.

I have the same plan. I was looking for cobalt blue bottles with corks. There are some online retailers I was looking at, but haven't pulled the trigger on any yet.

Rubber Toe had a place in Burnside for bottles. I could have a look friday and get some prices. I think I need around 50 200mls.

Yeah I meant to post some pics from the catalog. Richard's Packaging in Burnside. I think I need some hot sauce bottles too. Last time I went a guy in the office told me they want a $50 minimum order but I've ordered less from them a few times without issue.

Maybe I could organise a group buy, they have lots of bottles, etc, including beer bottles, HDPE buckets, and other stuff. I've bought hot sauce, bbq sauce, and syrup bottles from them before and they have some cool bottles that would be nice for vinegar or vanilla.

I don't think it's kept up to date but this should give you some idea of what they have: http://www.richardspackaging.com/dartmouth/catalogue

that's just the kind of thing i was thinking! if others are interested in getting some stuff from there too, like you say, a group buy might be the best method... i'm probably looking for 10-20 bottles, personally.

Damn I meant to get something organised. I've been meaning to dig up my catalogue and start a spreadsheet.

Sent from the brew timer.

I bought some small 2oz brown glass bottles on ebay a while back for pretty cheap. Not sure how the price would compare to Rob's source though.

I called these guys cause I'm looking for some 30 ml (1 oz) dropper bottles and the number is out of service. Anyone know if they're still in business?

Alternatively, anyone know where I can find cheap 1oz dropper bottles?

Hey, how about I take a trip to Burnside at lunch... I lost my catalogues and was thinking of doing an order soon.

Cool, let us know what you find! Thanks.

I'm interested in 32, 30 ml amber droppers (and shrink-bands if they carry them)

Dave, were you talking about Richards Packaging? I just called their Burnside office (902) 468-8211 and they are still there.

I'll let you know what I find there. IIRC they don't have shrink bands, I got mine on the web somewhere.

Weird, when I called the number this morning it said it was out of service. Maybe I need a refresher course on how to use my phone!

I'm interested in the cost per bottle for both 30ml and 120 ml dropper bottles with droppers. Thanks

I went in with a list, they will get back to me with a spreadsheet with item numbers and prices. Dropper bottles, woozies (5 oz hot sauce bottles), 12oz bbq sauce bottles, those square bottles (250ml, 500ml), flask style syrup / vanilla bottles, and 650/500/330 ml beer bottles. I also have a couple of catalogues. When I get the info I'll open up a group buy. Dave, if you need to do your own order for tax purposes that's cool too.

So getting a skid of beer bottles is obviously out of the question. Also note the number of bottles per case for the dropper bottles. We can probably link to their website with the item numbers so you can see what they look like.
