put following in teapot: juice 1 lemon, grate 1 inch ginger, 2ish tbsp honey, fill with boiling water. let sit 20 mins. pour into mug through strainer.TimG wrote:This is what I need..CorneliusAlphonse wrote:I'm drinking homemade lemon ginger tea... got a cold
my thought is go easy on the honey, add more to your mug if you need it.

Atta boy. I somehow decided a chicken stir fry would go well with a RIS rather than something citrusy like an IPA but it worked. Going to add a pic under food porn shortly. lolRubberToe wrote:Great Idea! I'm having one now too.ddwood94 wrote:Propeller Russian Imperial Stout!

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
Still too young to say for sure but I like it so far. It came out as I was hoping for. Dry but not too dry. I let the yeast form most of the flavour. This is the first pour from the keg and it looks like its going to clear well.
I think for my first Belgian blonde its pretty good. At 7% it's definitely a quaffable summer beer.

I brewed my BB for the brew off on Boxing day and it's still in the primary. I'll probably be kegging it this weekend. Like you, it's my first time brewing a BB as well.

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
I used Ardennes. It seemed like the logical choice for a simple recipe that stuck to the style. I've never used this yeast before but has really nice aroma and esters come through nicely but not overpowering. Very balanced.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
