"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Sampling the chinook pale ale for the beer exchange. I'm probably gonna have to make another batch because I ran short using my new equipment.

Having my very first Westvletern 12. WOW! It's my first Quad, so I don't really have anything else to compare it to. But if there was such a thing as heaven in a glass, this would be it!

You didn't get one of the four packs of Wychwood. It had Hobgoblin, Goliath, Scarecrow and Wychcraft

I've got one, but it's intended as a gift for someone. it would be better than the grolsch, but I love the 1.5 L flip top : )

Having a Garrison Black IPA and Barrel aged Fog Burner, both are excellent :rockin:

I had garrison BIPA as well. The hop aroma is huge.

Also finally got around to trying doc's foot.

In previous years, I believe the BIPA was just a blend of the Stout and IPA (according to one cashier who was willing to fill it up when the original was not on tap). Do we think this is a different beer now?

And how was the Doc's Foot?

I would guess its still a blend. There was quite a bit of roastiness in there. But I think they dry-hop it post-blend.

Doc's foot was good. I wouldn't say it was super similar to mine but fairly close. Mine was more plummy, where this one was very cherry. It almost reminded me of cherry cola. Very good though. I'm happy with it. I have another bottle. I'll bring it to a meeting sometime soon. :cheers2:

I put up a post on BA seeing if I can find any for trade.

Looking forward to that Westy 12 also when It arrives.

Thanks Liam and Chris.
