Having my first Bigfoot Barleywine (2011) from Sierra Nevada, this is good stuff :mmm:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Started at RB with Fathom and Black IPA. Finished up with Fresh O and HopRocket at H&R. Delicious!

2010 Ol' Fog Burner. It gushed on opening, but I don't taste anything off, so maybe I bumped it when rooting around in the cellar for something to drink.

Grainy with lots of caramel and some dark fruits.

I only got my hands on 3 - they certainly didn't last this long. They are only a distant memory at this point :wahh:

Had a Propeller Porter and now a Nugget SMASH. Probably sip some DIPA after this. Soon to have some pulled pork on a bun with some homemade chips and got some corned beef / pastrami in the fridge with a rub to smoke tomorrow.

Gael's Blood Potato Ale - An Irish Red from Crannog Brewing in Sorrento, BC.

Another fine beer from these folks. Too bad they only sell in Party Pigs and Kegs. Here is my BA review.

Pint from a party pig at a local restaurant with lunch.

A(4): Beautiful transparent deep copper color with a small, fine, light brown head.
S(3.5): Just the slightest hint of citrus (lemon)
T(4.5): Initial taste of sweet, fresh baked bread, with just a slight bit of citrus in the finish.
M(4.5): Nice full mouthfeel that leaves a fine, slightly bitter citrus coating on the roof of the mouth, while the sweet bread taste fades quickly into a clean finish.
O(4): A very well balanced beer. Just what I've come to expect from Crannog. I could and will drink a lot of this. It is just hard to believe that potato was used to make this beer. Amazing!!

You wild man!

I went down for the RB cask (blackened Haskap), but ended up with the original, and then an IPA. Homebrew IPA tonight.
