Blanche de Chambly....normally a "sunny back deck" kinda beer for me, but on this cold rainy night I wanted something that reminded me of warmer times....

Raspberry Cream Ale... two weeks in the primary... then added 3lbs of oregon raspberry fruit puree and 1 week in the secondary...

hmmm... raspberry is coming through nice and jammy but with a slight annoying fruit twang... this may disipate though as I just force carbed it, hopefully it's just the CO2 and mellows out.

I find that fruit tartness needs a few weeks to mellow out.

I had an robust porter, and now I'm having a bock. I think that was a mistake, because this bock tastes like malt extract by comparison. Maybe my next bock will be drier and hoppier. Maybe I shouldn't call it a bock.

fucking tablets suck for typing. Fixed :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Drinking some more of my Rye Saison. Really should run another batch of this again soon. There can't be much left in that keg. :spilly:

You have good friends.
I'm making away with a glass of APA after grilling a slab of baby back.

Got to get enough energy for berry picking tomorrow morning.

My local watering hole had Flying Dog Citra and Centennial Single Hop IPAs on tap.

The Citra was everything I thought it would be and more. I can only hope my Citra SMaSH comes out half as good.

Our American Brown Ale that won gold in the CABA competition this year worked out well and was based off of Janet's Brown Ale. We made a bunch of modifications (basically a different beer) and it turned out really well balanced. Try changing up the hops. Worked for us.

In the hurricane, eh?

I went to look for Partridge berries, AKA lingonberry, but never found very many. Looks like my old haunts are not coughing up any berries this year.
