50L Braumeister? What the fuck, Ricky?! That doesn't sound very scalable for a business. For $3000 I could build a hell of a lot bigger brewery than that for wort production! He's going to have to brew a bunch of times to fill one fermentor. What type of brewing system do you plan on using initially? How do you plan on distributing your beers?
We will be using an all-electric 50 L Braumeister system with six 60 Gallon fermenter tanks to launch with. We plan on “brewing small and selling it all”. At first we will just offer Growler and keg sales direct from the brewery as well as having local accounts featuring our ales.

That's either a misprint or a bad idea.

Yeah, something doesn't sound right. A 50L system with six 60 gal fermentors seems out of place.RubberToe wrote:50L Braumeister? What the fuck, Ricky?! Yeah, most breweries would bottleneck at the fermentor. This thing could probably brew 24/7, then one day the Braumeister is going to have a part fail.canuck wrote:Yeah, something doesn't sound right. A 50L system with six 60 gal fermentors seems out of place.

Maybe the fermenters are actually 60L and not 60 gallons? I don't know if that's any better though really... haha

Re: Beer in the news
I can brew 60L at a time, seems a little small.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Bull Jagger closes for business, $100k used brewhouse now up for sale on Craigslist
and if you have a spare $100,000 here's the Craigslist ad
The ad describes it as " currently in use as a nano-packaging brewery" - which seems to be a somewhat different definition of "nano" than I'm used to.
Group buy?

And from the megabrewers:
Molson Canadian Wheat debuts in Canada
Molson Canadian Wheat debuts in Canada
Doing what they always do with beer - take a great idea, and take all the flavor out of it. Another sure-fire hit.Molson Canadian Wheat is a wheat beer with a Canadian twist. It offers a highly drinkable and approachable lager in a style of beer that is most commonly offered as an ale. It has a wholesome wheat taste without the signature citrus, spicy flavour of Belgian-style wheat beers or the clove-like character of some German-style wheat beers.

That pretty much sums it up. Likely the only way I'll try one of these is if it's given to me.derek wrote: Doing what they always do with beer - take a great idea, and take all the flavor out of it. Another sure-fire hit.

From th DFH facebook page:
From Sam: Here's Logan of Beavertown Brewery (London) and JF of Dieu Du Ciel (Montreal) at the Rehoboth pub. This is our first international three-way. It's both erotic and exotic. A 7% abv Pale India Ale spiced with Tamarind, Cumin, fres...h crushed black pepper and Jaggery (traditional Indian Pale Sugar). We are looking for a name suggestion before noon (EST) today. Something that suggests our four current/former UK related countries that inspired this brew: US, UK, Canada, and India. Inspire us...
