Re: What's eveyone drinking tonight?
I met up with Chris (Chalmers) today for lunch at the Saint John Ale House. Had a great chat about beers, brewing, etc. Chris was kind enough to provide me with a few samples of beer that he had in his car. Very much appreciated Chris and thanks a bunch! Looking forward to meeting up again next time you're in town!
So this is what I'll be drinking tonight.

So this is what I'll be drinking tonight.

Re: What's eveyone drinking tonight?
I had some of HPhunter's Red Ale and now I'm drinking Sleepyjamie's (who's in Cuba, bastard...) Black IPA. We split a 10 gallon batch of this, fermented seperately with different yeast and dry hopped differently.
His used WYeast 1056 and dry hopped with Columbus and Amarillo, mine used a Nottingham yeast cake and dry hopped with Amarillo. They both finished at 1.014. His tastes roastier, mine tastes hoppier; interesting results. I love the taste of the Black Prinz and wish mine had more of that flavour! Both beers taste great.

Drinking a Brooklyn East India IPA. Great English IPA.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

We're tipping down a growler of the newest take on the Fathom IPA. Yum. The Citra gives it a good nose and the Simcoe a nice bite. Well done Greg.

Nope, Aramis. I've never run into these hops before so I decided to grab a bottle. Very similar to NS though it seems. It's a defendant of French Strisselspalt hops.LiverDance wrote:Nelson sauvin?
