Does anyone have any experience or ideas? I started to try Symantec backup exec among others but it won't install on windows 7, only server based OS. I've run out of ideas.

Ok I'm stumped here. I'm trying to recover data off some dat72 4mm backup tapes with no luck. The drive is working fine but I can't seem to find a program that will restore from it.

Have you tried installing a server OS onto a virtual machine?
