Group Buy? - Large Mouth Fermentor
Hey Everyone,
I wanted to gauge interest in a new product I'm considering and I thought if there is enough I would offer a group buy discount for anyone on the board. The product is a wide mouth glass fermentor. It is the same one that Northern Brewer carries (except the lid is purple instead of white). If we can get enough interest (>20 fermentors) then I should be able to offer them for $25 for the 5 gallon and $30 for the 6.5 gallon. The top screws off and can fit a normal air-lock bung and airlock for fermentation and the gasket is a polyethylene foam seal. You can look at it here:
http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/big- ... allon.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If this happens then I can also take orders for stainless steel pots that I normally don't carry. But that will be another thread.

I'm in for at least one 6.5
In fact if I get one and like it and you stock some I'd likely just grab another later at store prices to replace my plastic buckets.

Tap 1: Festa Brew Scotch Ale
Tap 2:
"Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chamber of my brain -
Quaintest thoughts - queerist fancies
Come to life and fade away;
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Re: Group Buy? - Large Mouth Fermentor
I'm thinking at least 2x 6.5gal perhaps 1x 5gal also.
Most importantly do these all come with the "microfiber cleaning cloth" they'd be useless without that! (end sarcasm)
Is it possible to get the carrying straps also? Seems like that may be handy.
I also may be interested in a pot depending on what the options are.

Re: Group Buy? - Large Mouth Fermentor
I'd take 2 6.5gals.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: Group Buy? - Large Mouth Fermentor
Hey Everyone,
There looks to be enough interest to take a step further. I'm working on a post in the group buy forum that will have the spreadsheet and detailed explanation. Hopefully it'll be up today.
Thanks
Dave

I don't have access to the group buy forum(submitted a while ago), but I'd prepay for a 5gal if that works for you.
