Infection?

Post by Cobalt » Thu Jun 13, 2013 6:18 pm

Curious as to what this is. It's been sitting in a glass carboys for the last month aging while waiting for a keg to empty. However I noticed this on the top and it's gassing off again. This is 1 of 2 carboys from the same batch, did a double of summer ale, but the other carboy is fine, nothing going on and is doing ok.

Thanks for any info :)

Might be nothing, hard to say. You'll have to taste it...

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Just looks like yeast to me. I would say there isn't anything wrong with it... errrr, wait.. yep it is infected. Please bottle it up with normal carbonating sugar amounts and send it to me for proper disposal. :D

I agree with Tony - it looks like it's just some leftover krausen that hasn't made its way to the bottom yet.
