SS Thermometers
I'm placing an order with OBK and one of the things that I am purchasing is a couple of SS Thermometers for my new acquired 55L kegs. Does anyone see any pros/cons to getting the 6" probe over the 2" probe......or vice versa? I'm thinking of going with the 6", but figured I'd just throw the question out there to you guys as well.

Re: SS Thermometers
I used a 6" in my keggle mash tun and had no issues with it. I'm using a 2.5" in my OBK pot and have no issue with that one either

If you're going to be using an immersion chiller, a 6" probe might be a pain in the ass. I'd say unless you absolutely need the longer probe, go with the shorter one.canuck wrote:I'm placing an order with OBK and one of the things that I am purchasing is a couple of SS Thermometers for my new acquired 55L kegs. ^ Good point Jeff regarding the IC. I plan on getting a counter flow chiller, but it probably won't be right away. I've got the 2" probe in my HLT and have had no issues with it......I suppose that I'll just stick with that.
