My father-in-law brought me some hops from a friend of his' cottage. They smelled exactly like potperri
anyone have an idea what type the might be?

I can't say that I have ever experienced any hops that have had that smell to them before. I'd have to think that they would be pretty cloying if used in a beer!!!
