Recommendations wanted for Maine Beers for Hoptoberfest

Post by Earl » Wed Sep 12, 2012 8:12 pm

I have someone traveling to Maine this week and they have offered to bring me back some beer for Hoptoberfest. I will do a google search soon, but I thought some of you might have some recommendations.

:cheers2:

Thanks
Earl

Fuck ya!
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Thanks guys. I have given the list and hope that it will produce a good selection for me to bring to Hoptoberfest. Looks like Oxbow has an Oxtoberfest beer so that made it to the top of my request list and the Maine Brew Co. has a Zoe Happy, Hoppy Amber Ale, so lots of great options.

I didn't think Hill Farmstead was available in Maine currently... has that changed? Please say yes.

+1 to this. Peeper, Lunch, Zoe, Mean Old Tom... they're all great.
