Re: How did you find Brewnosers (all members please respond)
I was reading The Coast, and saw an article by Tim B., referencing the Brewnosers finding some new/interesting beer from Granite. After some internet sleuthing, I found the old website and subscribed to the listserv. The rest is history.

I was made aware of the Brewnosers club by the CABA website. Also, I was made aware of the forums by Nash at Rockbottom.

Re: How did you find Brewnosers (all members please respond)
I was surfing looking for Canadian sites, found the BrewNosers but at that time there wasn't a forum that I know of.
Last year, I looked it up and found a forum, so I joined. Great to be here.

I just did the standard google thing, found the listserve, and have been doing my damnest to kill it ever since.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

In an article about the H&T SMASH wort exchange in Taps magazine. I'm not sure it referenced the group by name, but mentioned there was an NS homebrew club, so I googled it. I've been in love since.

I was researching all-grain brewing and found the link to the old site through the CABA site, joined the listserv and then joined the great migration to the forum once Jimmy got it up and running.

Re: How did you find Brewnosers (all members please respond)
I found the old site when browsing google for a Halifax homebrew club...and based on the website, I assumed the club was no longer active. I proceeded to post a kijiji ad looking for brewers who were interested in starting a club. I was quickly bombarded with emails informing me there was an existing club, and that they were indeed very active. I signed up for the listserv, but could only handle the constant "ping" on my phone with all the club emails for a short period of time...the rest is history

Re: How did you find Brewnosers (all members please respond)
A former co-worker and all-grain brewer told me about the website several years ago.
Then in Oct 2010 my brother showed up in my driveway with 500lbs of raw barley and it was all-grain ever since.

By surfing the web for beer groups. Ran across the old BN website. Subscribed to the newsgroup and followed up by dropping by Kyle's for our first meeting not long after.

Found the site when surfing the web for NS HomeBrew info when I was getting started four years ago, but didn't really do anything about it. More recently I saw the club referenced from Nash's blogs.

Saw a post on BobbyOK's twitter feed (summer of 2010), followed up for info, subscribed to the listserv, and eventually made it to a meeting at KMcK's a few months later.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

referral from NG
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: How did you find Brewnosers (all members please respond)
So I was the Seaport Beer Fest last year and I was telling the group I was with about my kegerator when the guys beside us overhear me and mention they were homebrewers too and that I should check out the forum. I can't remember who they were. I joined the forum a few weeks later and recently started posting.

+1 I think LiverDance overheard our beer talk and asked if we homebrewed. I was the only one who did, so he told me to join. I obeyed.LiverDance wrote:That may have been me, i'm pretty sure I mentioned it to a couple of guys that dayspears104 wrote:So I was the Seaport Beer Fest last year and I was telling the group I was with about my kegerator when the guys beside us overhear me and mention they were homebrewers too and that I should check out the forum. was told about the group by a 3rd party - I was getting into homebrewing and was told by them to stop by the heart and thistle and try their beer/talk to the brewer there.
If only I knew what I was getting myself into.
