Those look like 1kg blocks of Balderson cheddar...plus his other one. That could be over 25lbs of cheese!

Yeah, you're probably right..never looked that close, but it's a shit ton of cheese!
Even if they were the 500g blocks there would probably be 15lbs.

Re: The Official What's Cooking Thread [Food Porn]
Picked up some sweet strip steaks from Highland Drive Storehouse on the weekend for a family birthday:
Didn't get a picture of them cooked but they were a-ok despite being oven-cooked (reverse sear method).
Leftovers are the perk of hosting (wish I'd had a higher quality bun, but whatever):

Re: The Official What's Cooking Thread [Food Porn]
Tonight I had.
And for any Newfoundlanders out there who see this next one, you should know it is my favorite meal in the whole world.. a real treat.. roast Turr, Sorry for the quick pic and poor quality. BTW, for any mainlanders who haven't had the luxury of tasting said sea bird.. suffer
As far as I know Newfoundlanders are the only Canadians allowed to hunt and harvest these birds and man are they ever oily and tasty. Way better than seal flipper and I will be having a meal of that as soon as my buddy gets a seal or two.

This was the aftermath http://s15.photobucket.com/user/nflder/ ... 9.jpg.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: The Official What's Cooking Thread [Food Porn]
My first smoked Pork Butt, I got a great deal on a 12-13lb shoulder. I cut ~5lb off to put in the slow cooker at a later date, the pulled pork turned out pretty tasty. I used apple wood chips, foiled it with apple juice/cider at ~165F IT and took it off at ~195F IT. She was started at 8am and I was eating at ~6pm, so about 10 hours at ~250F......also made a 10 gal batch of Munich Dunkel, pretty great day.

Totally enjoyed it. They are hard to get even if you hunt them yourself. Years of over hunting has reduced their numbers in places, but they are starting to make a comeback now due to strict quotas and pentalies.CorneliusAlphonse wrote:Glad you enjoyed the Turr Tony - I remember you telling me about them when j was over there.
